POTATOES

A Kindergarten teacher decided to let her class play a game. The teacher told each child in the class to bring along a plastic bag containing a few potatoes. Each potato will be given a name of a person that the child hates, so the number of potatoes that the child will put in his/ her plastic bag will depend on the number of people he/she hates.
So when the day came, every child brought some potatoes with the name of the people he/ she hated. Some had two potatoes; some 3, while some had upto 5 potatoes.
The teacher then told the children to carry with them the potatoes in the plastic bag wherever they go for 1 week. Day after day passed by, and the children started to complain due to the displeasing smell let out by the rotten potatoes they were carrying.
Those children having 5 potatoes really began to feel the weight of the heavier bags. After 1 week, the children were relieved to hear that the teacher had finally ended the game. The teacher asked, "How did you feel while carrying your potatoes with you for a week?" The children let out their frustrations and started complaining of the trouble that they had to go through having to carry the heavy and smelly potatoes wherever they go.
Then the teacher told them the hidden meaning behind the game. The teacher said, "This is exactly the situation when you carry your hatred for somebody inside your heart. The stench of hatred will contaminate your heart and you will end up carrying an unnecessary burden with you wherever you go".
If you cannot tolerate the smell of rotten potatoes for just 1 week, can you imagine what burden it would be to have the stench of hatred in your heart for your lifetime??

MORAL OF THE STORY
Get rid of any hatred you might have for others in your heart, so that you won't have to carry around unnecessary burden during your lifetime. Forgiving others is the best attitude to take! Love others, even if you don't like them..

THE BRICK

A young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood street, going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar. He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down car passed, no children appeared.
Instead, a brick smashed into the Jag's side door!

He slammed on the brakes and backed the Jag back to the spot where the brick had been thrown. The angry driver then jumped out of the car, grabbed the nearest kid and pushed him up against a parked car shouting, 'What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing? That's a new car and that brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money Why did you do it?' The young boy was apologetic. 'Please, mister...please, I'm sorry but I didn't know what else to do,' He pleaded. 'I threw the brick because no one else would stop...' With tears dripping down his face and off his chin, the youth pointed to a spot just around a parked car. 'It's my brother, 'he said 'He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him up.'

Now sobbing, the boy asked the stunned executive, 'Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me.'

Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. He hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into the wheelchair, then took out a linen handkerchief and dabbed at the fresh scrapes and cuts. A quick look told him everything was going to be okay. 'Thank you and may God bless you,' the grateful child told the stranger. Too shook up for words, the man simply watched the boy push his wheelchair-bound brother down the sidewalk toward their home.

It was a long, slow walk back to the Jaguar. The damage was very noticeable, but the driver never bothered to repair the dented side door. He kept the dent there to remind him of this message: 'Don't go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention!' God whispers in our souls and speaks to our hearts. Sometimes when we don't have time to listen, He has to throw a brick at us. It's our choice to listen or not.

Thought for the Day:
If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.

If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it.

He sends you flowers every spring.

He sends you a sunrise every morning Face it, friend - He is crazy about you!

God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.

Read this line very slowly and let it sink in...

If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

God determines who walks into your life...

While I was sufing the net, I found a good article on a blog, faith2liftu, excerpts of which I have reproduced below...
GOD determines who walks into your life.... YOU decide who you let walk away, who you let stay and who you refuse to let go...
Observe the relationships around you. Pay attention to; which ones lift and which ones lean? Which ones encourage and which ones discourage? Which ones are on a path of growth uphill and which ones are going downhill? When you leave certain people, do you feel better or feel worse? Which ones always have drama or don't really understand, know and appreciate you and the gift that lies within you.
Life is like a theatre - so invite your audience carefully. Not everyone is holy enough and healthy enough to have a front row seat in our lives. There are some people in your life that need to be loved from a distance.
It's amazing what you can accomplish when you let go...; or atleast minimise your time with draining, negative, incompatible, not-going-anywhere relationships, friendships and fellowships! You cannot change the people around you.. but you can change the people you are around! Ask God for wisdom and discernment and choose wisely the people who is in the front row of your life.
GOD determines who walks into your life.. YOU decide who you let walk away, who you let stay and who you refuse to let go..

Thank you, God!!

Below is one of the nicest mails I have seen and is so true .Please read it slowly :
Mr X, dreamt that he went for a visit to Heaven . An angel began showing him around... They walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels. His angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, "This is the Receiving Section ".
Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received." He looked around the area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on Voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world. Then they moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section. The angel then said to him, "This is the " Packaging and Delivery Section ". Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them." He noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth..
Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor they stopped at the door of a very small station. To his great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing. This is the " Acknowledgment Section," the angel quietly admitted to him embarrassed. "How is it that there's no work going on here?" Mr X asked.
"So sad," the angel sighed. "After people receive what they have asked for, very few send back acknowledgments.
"How does one acknowledge God's blessings?" he asked. "Simple," the angel answered. "Just say, "Thank you, God."
"What blessings should they acknowledge?" Mr X asked.
1) "If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your body, a roof over your head And a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of this world.
2) "If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy."
3) "And if you get this email on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity."
4) "If you woke up this morning with more health than illness ..... You are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day. "
5) "If you have never experienced the fear of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation ... You are ahead of 700 million people in the world.."
6) "If you can attend a church/temple without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death, you are envied by, and more blessed than, three billion people in the world."
7) "If your parents are still alive and still married ... You are very rare."
8) "If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you're unique to all those in doubt and despair."
"If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing, that someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all." So I once again wish you all a great day, lets all count our blessings, and you may pass this to your friends and family to remind them too, how Blessed we all are.
